About the event
Nityapad: The Eight-Fold Daily Rhythm - Participants will learn kirtans for daily seva. We will explore how the Ashta Chhap composed specific melodies and lyrics for each time of day . Morning Awakening (Mangala & Shringar): Waking the Beloved and adorning Him for the summer heat. The Forest Picnic (Rajbhog): Singing of His midday meals in the shaded groves . The Evening Return (Sandhya & Shayan): Welcoming Him home as the summer sun sets, and putting Him to bed.
Ushnakal: Shringar (Visual & Tactile): Discovering why Shri Krishna is dressed in sheer, light white cottons and adorned entirely in cooling pearls instead of heavy gold or jewels during the summer .
Fragrance: Understanding the spiritual significance of applying cooling sandalwood paste (Chandan) and rosewater to the Lord's body to relieve the summer heat.
